BMNR Through Three Screeners

Bitmine Immersion appeared on Day 3 Bounce in early July, Trend Watch two weeks later and Upward Consolidation in August. A six-week screener lifecycle in data.

Screeners are usually discussed one at a time, as if each list lived alone. In practice, a stock working its way through a recovery tends to pass through different screeners in sequence, because each list is tuned to a different phase of a move. Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) spent the last six weeks doing exactly that, and the sequence is worth walking through in order, because the order is the lesson.

Phase 1: the bounce list

BMNR first showed up on the Day 3 Bounce screener on the list dated July 5. This screener looks for a very specific micro-structure: a stock still below its 20-day average after a multi-month decline that has just printed consecutive higher lows and higher highs with daily gains above 1%. In other words, the earliest measurable footprint of a reversal attempt. The first close after the listing was $15.55 on July 6.

The attempt did not run in a straight line. Over the following week the stock faded to a closing low of $14.61 on July 13, six percent below the entry, before turning higher. Early-phase lists carry early-phase risk; that dip is part of the record and belongs in the review.

Phase 2: the trend list

On July 22, with the stock at $17.74, BMNR qualified for the Trend Watch screener, our proprietary trend-following list. The stock had risen 14% from its bounce-phase entry, and the reversal attempt had graduated into a measurable trend. What followed is the honest middle of this story: within two sessions the stock dropped to $15.79, eleven percent below its Trend Watch listing price, before recovering. Anyone tracking only the trend listing had a rough first week; anyone tracking from the bounce listing was still comfortably ahead.

Phase 3: the consolidation list

DateScreenerReference closeClose Aug 14Change
Jul 5 (list date)Day 3 Bounce$15.55 (Jul 6)$18.08+16.3%
Jul 22Trend Watch$17.74$18.08+1.9%
Aug 9 and Aug 16Upward Consolidation$18.10 (Aug 10)$18.08-0.1%

By August 9 the character of the tape had changed again: BMNR appeared on the Upward Consolidation screener, which looks for uptrending stocks pausing near their highs rather than pulling back. It re-qualified on August 16. The stock had reached a closing peak of $18.82 on August 7 and has since flattened into the $18 area, which is precisely the behavior that screener is designed to detect.

Reading the sequence, not the snapshot

Measured from the bounce listing, BMNR gained 16.3% in six weeks. Measured from the trend listing, it is roughly flat. Both numbers are true, and the difference between them is the point: where a stock is in its lifecycle determines which screener sees it, and the earlier the phase, the wider the outcomes in both directions. The sequence bounce, trend, consolidation is visible in the platform's screener history for anyone who wants to verify it, and watching a current name move through the same stations is considerably more instructive than any single day's list.
